Commuter Crew Program

Commuter Crew Program

The Commuter Crew Program is an initiative designed to support incoming first year and transfer students during their first few weeks at UIC. Students are encouraged to register for the program during orientation sessions (hosted throughout the summer and during the winter break). Upon admission to the program, students are assigned to a small group or "crew" of incoming students and communicate with one another via the GroupMe messaging service. Each "crew" is led by a current UIC student or "Crew Leader" who is available to answer crew members questions. Crew members can connect with other students, learn about on-campus events, and arrange "meet-ups" to UIC gatherings both on and off-campus.

Registration for the Commuter Crew program for Spring 2018 has closed.

Want to learn more about the crew (and how you can become a Crew Leader for future students?) - contact Associate Director Kristina Garcia for more information:

Are You a Member of the Crew?
We are glad you are here. As a crew member, you can connect with other new UIC students via your crew GroupMe and can ask your Crew Leader questions. Additionally, you receive bi-weekly newsletters highlighting UIC events and resources as well as special programs and offers specifically for Crew Members. As you learn more about your crew members and leader, know there are others who are going through the experience as well. Want to learn more about our Crew Leader team? Read on for more details:
